Set up your external microphone and camera

Connect an external microphone and webcam for your sessions, with steps for each tested microphone and for any other.

SignGlasses sessions require an external microphone. An external camera is recommended where it helps, for example to show the presenter or the board.

Connect your microphone

Many microphones work with SignGlasses. Choose yours for the steps to connect it. If SignGlasses has not tested your microphone, choose Another microphone.

If you use a lapel microphone, clip it securely to the speaker’s collar or lapel. Keep it clear of jackets and scarves. Fabric touching the microphone causes noise.

When you join a session, choose your microphone under Room microphone on the equipment check.

Connect your camera

Most webcams work if they have a resolution of at least 720p.

Plug the webcam into your computer. Your computer recognizes it. When you join a session, choose it under Room camera on the equipment check.

Check your devices before a session

Open Equipment check in the sidebar. Pick your webcam to see a preview from it, and pick your microphone to see a level meter that moves when it hears sound.
