Connect another microphone

Connect a Bluetooth or plug-in microphone that SignGlasses has not tested, then choose it in your session.

Many microphones work with SignGlasses, not only the ones it has tested. Your microphone’s own guide says how to turn it on and pair it. The steps here are the same for any microphone.

A Bluetooth microphone

Bluetooth microphones work with laptops, tablets, iPads, and phones.

  1. Turn on the microphone and put it in pairing mode, as its guide describes.
  2. Open the Bluetooth settings on your computer or mobile device and turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Select the microphone from the list of available devices.
  4. If you are asked for a password, enter the one in the microphone’s guide.

A plug-in microphone

Plug-in microphones work only with laptops and tablets. They do not work with iPads or phones.

  1. Plug the microphone, or its USB receiver, into your computer.
  2. If the microphone has a power button, turn it on.

Your computer recognizes it as an audio option.

Choose it in your session

When you join your session, choose the microphone under Room microphone on the equipment check. In the mobile app, a connected Bluetooth microphone is selected for you.

To check the microphone, ask the presenter to speak. The red bar under Room microphone moves when the microphone hears sound.

If the microphone is not in the list, check that it is connected and turned on, then refresh the page.
