Connect Vuzix glasses to Wi-Fi from their settings
Join a Wi-Fi network from the settings on Vuzix smart glasses, without a QR code, and find the MAC address for your IT team.
The glasses must be on Wi-Fi in the place where they will be used. They rejoin a saved network automatically.
The quickest way to connect them is a Wi-Fi QR code. See Connect smart glasses to Wi-Fi. Use the steps here when you would rather enter the network on the glasses themselves, or when your IT team needs the MAC address.
Turn on the glasses first. See Use Vuzix smart glasses.
Optional: control the glasses from a computer
The Vuzix View app lets you control the glasses from your computer, which makes entering a Wi-Fi password much faster. It is not required.
Plug the glasses into your computer, open Vuzix View, and turn on the glasses. Then select the glasses in the app.
Check the connection
Swipe forward on the touchpad until you reach the gear icon. The Settings preview shows the network name if the glasses are connected, or Off if they are not.
Join a network on the glasses
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Select Connectivity.
- Select the WiFi icon.
- Select Turn On.
- Swipe to Add Network and select it.
- Select your network.
- Enter the password with the on-screen keyboard. Swipe gently to move between letters and tap once to choose a letter.
- Select the check button.
- Select No when asked about advanced options.
If the glasses have joined this network before, select Saved Networks and choose it there.
The Settings preview now shows your network name. To return to the home screen, tap the touchpad with two fingers 2 or 3 times.
Find the MAC address
If your network only admits approved devices, your IT team needs the MAC address of the glasses.
- Swipe forward to the gear icon and tap it to open Settings.
- Swipe forward to System and select it.
- Select About.
- Select Device Info.
The MAC address appears on this screen.
